Food

We love food

Dine in or dine out at Bridge at Bridgeland.

Just steps away on Bridgeland’s main street, 1st Avenue Northeast, you’ll find dozens of locally-owned restaurants offering mouth-watering dishes. Can’t decide?  Get inspired by menus that serve Calgarians amazing cuisines from around the world – Japanese, Mexican, Korean, Italian, Canadian, Thai-fusion, Lebanese and more.

One of our hands-down favorite spots is Una Pizza & Wine with a menu that includes everything from a classic margherita pizza to a pizza honoring the neighbourhood with house-made bacon, fennel sausage, smoked mozzarella, and maple syrup.

Did someone say ice cream? Why not hop on over to Luke’s Drug Store for some soft-serve, Made by Marcus or Village Ice Cream and enjoy a classic flavor like toasted coconut or salted caramel. Regardless of your preferences, you’ll find a sweet treat that suits your taste in Bridgeland.

BRIDGELAND MARKET

Real food is fresh

There are more reasons to visit Bridgeland Market than to snap a photo of the sayings on the building’s famously hilarious marquee sign.

It’s the kind of old-school corner grocery store where neighbours connect and catch up with the owner while they shop. Co-owner Yousef Traya is a fourth-generation grocer. His parents’ grocery store was in Bridgeland Market’s current space from 1981 to 2004. In 2011, Traya rebranded the store to give it a more modern, hip look.

The store sells produce and deli items, dry goods, sweet treats such as baked goods, Made By Marcus ice cream, and Rosso coffee. Items are sourced locally and internationally, and if you can’t find a product you want, you can suggest it via the market’s website. There are also unique offerings such as custom-made floral bouquets, a cheese of the month club, and the staff will even help you build your own charcuterie board to take home.

“Love this little market. Yousef is the cornerstone of Bridgeland.”
